Tango University of Buddhist Studies /Tango Monastery is one of the highest Buddist college in Bhutan. It was built in 13th century and rebuilt in 1688 by Tenzin Rabgye, the 4th Temporal Rule. Monks who study in this university have to stay at least for nine years to perform Buddhist practice. After completed the study, they may need to practice alone for three more years before they get graduated.

The path to the monastery is very well developed, which is similar to Hong Kong’s popular hiking trails. There are lots of slogans alongside the road. “Nature is not a place to visit, its our HOME, so make it clean."; “Be a part of the solution, not part of the pollution."; “do not commit any non-virtuous action."; “Performance only perfect virtuous actions, subdue your mind thoroughly."

This maybe a good sign for us to re-consider relationship between the environment and ourselves.

吃過早餐後，我們前往廷布的一所佛寺參觀。

別以為塞車只會在大城市發生。

Tango University of Buddhist Studies /Tango Monastery 是全不丹最高級的佛學院，最初建於13 世紀，再在1688年重新修葺成今天的模樣，屬於竹巴噶舉的佛寺*。佛學院修行的僧侶要在這裡學習九年，最後再閉關修行三年三月三日，方可成功完成學業，相傳不父「國父」夏仲．阿旺朗杰也曾這在這附近的一個山洞冥想。

一個僧侶緩緩下山，我們看到他不禁說:「Nice umbrella! 」

「哇！還要閉關三年？可以略去這一節嗎？閉關時都做什麼？」我們對於今天原來還有這些古法修行方式大感好奇。
「一般來說，如果沒有閉關的話，我們會認為修行會不夠高。閉關時每天一兩小時和同學討論佛學，其餘時間都會獨自在房中鑽研佛經。」Caiwang 很認真的回答。
「據說那些僧侶在修行時，甚至可以飄浮於空中。」
「就像是網上看過那些表演嗎？」
「類似，但他們不是魔術，是他們的法力，是佛教的力量。據說他們會圍圈盤膝而坐，再一齊用功浮於半空，順時針飛到旁邊那個人的位置，這種飛的力量我們叫 (音：Beag2） 。」
「就好似洗衣機一樣？一直轉轉轉…」
「但如果當中有一個人沒用功飛不起的話呢，旁邊的人飛過來就會…」
「就會撞機啦！」

這個莊嚴神聖的修練，突然變得十分滑稽。

登上佛學院的路鋪設得十分完善，就似香港熱門的行山徑一樣，難度不算太高。路的兩旁掛了不少標語：「Nature is not a place to visit, its our HOME, so make is clean」「Be a part of the solution, not part of the pollution」「do not commit any non-virtuous action, perform only perfect virtuous actions, subdue your mind thoroughly.」似乎告訴我們登佛學院有別於一般的登山活動，更是一次洗滌心靈之旅，標語讓遊人重新反思自我及和環境關係，在未到古寺之先，旅程已充滿「禪」味。

我們走一段，又停下來休息一下，起初Caiwang 說半個多小時的路程，我們最終卻花了一個半小時才能登上學院，但四周鳥語花香，又何須急於上山呢?

* 西藏佛教大致可以分成四個教派:
(1) 寧瑪派，因為該派僧人都戴紅帽，故俗稱紅教;
(2) 薩迦派，因寺廟圍牆塗有象徵文殊、觀音、金剛手菩薩的紅、白、黑三色花條，俗稱花教。
(3) 格魯派: 因為該派僧人都戴黃帽，故稱「黃教」，我們新聞常聽到的達賴喇嘛便是屬於黃教;
(4) 噶舉派，因相傳該派遠祖修法時，穿白色僧衣，故稱「白教」，噶舉分支眾多，而竹巴便屬這一分支。
